Drawers are supplied in a shallow 6-2/7 inch height for accessories and folded knitwear, and a deep 12-3/5 inch height for jeans and sweaters. All five sizes run 24 inches deep on soft-close slides and mount inside a standard tower, so a drawer bank can go anywhere in the layout rather than only at the ends.

Drawers
How this one is specified.
Drawers are the most expensive foot of a closet, so what goes in them decides how many you need. They earn their cost on small loose items — socks, underwear, belts, watches — that do not stack and become a pile on an open shelf within a week. Anything that holds its own shape in a stack is cheaper and easier to use on a shelf.
Two heights are made rather than a ladder of sizes, because in practice only two are useful. The shallow drawer at 6-2/7 inches keeps its contents in one retrievable layer; the deep drawer at 12-3/5 inches is for bulk that is genuinely bulky. Deeper than that and the bottom layer stops being reachable and starts being archaeology.
Widths are 21, 24 and 30 inches at a 24-inch depth, installed inside the tower rather than bolted on afterwards, on full-extension soft-close runners so the back of the drawer is actually usable. About the Closet Drawers.
How many drawers fit in one tower?
A 84-inch tower will take up to six shallow drawers or three deep drawers in the lower half while leaving hanging or shelf space above. Most layouts use a mix of two deep and two shallow.
What is the drawer box made of — is it dovetail?
The box is melamine panel in the same decor as the run, not a dovetailed timber box. That is worth understanding rather than glossing over, because the two are built for different loads. A dovetailed hardwood box earns its cost in a kitchen, where drawers carry cast iron and get opened several times a day for twenty years. A closet drawer carries folded clothes and jewelry, and the failure people actually report is never the box — it is the runner. That is where this program spends instead: full-extension soft-close runners as standard, so the back of the drawer comes out where you can see it and the drawer never slams. Three things are worth asking any supplier, in this order: are the runners full-extension, are they soft-close, and is the box the same decor as the cabinet. The last one matters more than it sounds: a white box inside a walnut run is the detail that makes a closet look assembled rather than built.
What sizes do closet drawers come in?

Are deep drawers better than shallow ones?
No. Below the top layer a deep drawer stops being retrievable, so several shallow drawers deliver more usable storage than two deep ones for the same height of cabinet.
